After a UC transfer offer, organize your remaining tasks around accepting admission, finishing coursework, sending records, and registering for classes. Keep confirmation records and check your campus account as you complete each task.
Confirm That You Have Accepted Admission
The Statement of Intent to Register, or SIR, formally accepts your admission offer. Review your admission conditions and enrollment plans, then complete the campus process, including any required deposit. The current UC transfer calendar lists June 1 as the SIR deadline for fall 2027 transfer admission. Check your own notice for another entry year or a later offer. Save the confirmation and review any outstanding account tasks. UCLA's acceptance instructions also explain the account information and applicable deposit required alongside the SIR.
Keep Meeting Your Admission Conditions
Compare your spring schedule with your admission conditions, including required courses, grades, and documents. Contact your admitting campus if you are considering a schedule change or may miss a grade requirement, and use its designated channel to report changes that have occurred. For example, UCLA's New Student Checklist for Transfers directs students to read their admission contract and report any inability to meet its provisions immediately. Use your own conditions rather than another student's instructions. Do not wait for the final transcript to disclose a problem. Keep copies of your report and the campus response, and continue checking your account and email.
Distinguish Sending Deadlines from Receipt Deadlines
UC's current fall 2027 calendar requires final official transcripts to be postmarked or electronically submitted by July 1. Placing an order does not establish that the school has sent it. A campus may specify a receipt deadline: UCLA's records page requires transcripts through spring 2026 to arrive by July 1, with a separate note for institutions whose terms end in late June. Check the instructions for your entry year and admission contract. List every institution from which you need records, including colleges where you took courses outside your main college. Use your individual checklist for high school records, exam results, and other documents. If you anticipate a delay, contact admissions before the deadline with the reason and current status. Ask how to proceed rather than assuming an extension to July 15.
Request Records That Include Final Grades
Check that your community college has posted all spring grades before requesting your final transcript. At Pasadena City College, the current ordering instructions direct students from the Transcripts and Records card in LancerPoint to the official transcript and GE certification option, then to Parchment. PCC does not hold orders for future grade updates, so confirm that your record is complete before ordering.
- Check the receiving campus and undergraduate admissions office.
- Use a delivery method the campus accepts, and save the order and delivery records.
- If you need general education certification, confirm the appropriate pattern, request process, and processing time.
PCC's GE certification page allows students to request IGETC certification with a transcript order and notes additional processing time for a first request. Confirm the process for Cal-GETC or another college with your own institution. Continue tracking both delivery and the UC campus's receipt record, using your saved documentation to investigate a delay or missing item.
Connect Orientation with Your First Course Registration
Activate your campus account and use the checklist for incoming transfer students to organize housing, orientation, health documents, and applicable financial aid paperwork. Follow your campus's schedule. UCLA's current checklist explains that transfer students receive academic advising and enroll in courses during orientation; check the arrangements at other campuses separately. Bring your completed course list, transfer credit records, and unresolved questions to advising. For the next stage, explore planning after transfer or bring your checklist to a one-on-one consultation.
